Tackling Covid19 in 2021

| Company News

The Prime Minister has announced a national lock down to reduce and tackle the spread of Covid-19.  His 4th January 2021 announcement introduces a lock-down until at least Mid-February.  Whilst very similar to March 2020 in content, this time Generation and the industry it serves is better prepared for the change.

Construction remains an essential business and permitted activity as long as it is undertaken with the correct Covid-19 protocols.  Talking to customers, most have expressed their intention to keep working through this period using the safe protocols they have developed in the past 9 months.

Generation will maintain its operations providing the customers with the equipment they need when and where it is needed.

Within our business, we have enabled remote working where possible, shielded vulnerable workers as they wait for the vaccine and introduced shift patterns to ensure social distancing is maintained.  We have also introduced yard and hire desk protocols to maintain this safe work environment.  We ask:

Customers to book a collection or return slot within our branches.  We will not be able to guarantee support for drop-in trade who will be asked to return to the branch within a free time slot

To schedule a delivery or collection customers will be able call the relevant branch.

Customers visiting the sites will need to remain in the open air, maintain 2 metres distance at all times and follow all staff directions.

Four days into 2021 it has already thrown much at us; with Brexit and a renewed lockdown. They say the darkest hour is the one before dawn.  There is still much to look forward to in 2021:

Construction remains an essential and permitted activity across Great Britain

Rising house prices and a buoyant residential market has maintained demand for scaffolding and construction services.

Infrastructure and Government spending for projects is increasing

Through preparation, our industry relationships and the hard work of our team we are here to support these opportunities and deal with any uncertainty:

We have a trained and dedicated account team, whose focus is on supporting your business.  Our resilient domestic and global supply chain ensures we have the necessary stocks to support customers through large and small projects.  This enables us to continue our price freeze, keeping hire rates for existing account customers at 2020 rates.

Generation is here in 2021 for our customers, suppliers and team.
