Altrad Generation is delighted to announce that James Buchanan will take over the role of Branch Manager at our Birmingham North Depot.
James is a committed member of the Altrad Generation team, with over 6 ½ years in the business including previously at Beaver84 which became part of the Generation brand in 2019. Starting originally in the Birmingham East branch his hard work and commitment has led to his promotion to this well-deserved new role.
The Birmingham East branch relocated to our Birmingham North Shady Lane site in the summer of 2022 amalgamating the Generation and Actavo Hire and Sale branches following the acquisition of the latter in September 2021. This strategic move to a larger site allows the Generation Groundworks division in the Midlands to expand and grow its product portfolio including the new Raptor Brace which compliments the existing stock holding of Brace systems and Boxes. Backed by a full design service and experienced sales team these sit alongside our full range of non-mechanical groundworks products including Roadforms and Roadplates as well as a number of Temporary Fencing and Plastic & Waterfilled Barrier options.
Also with improved motorway access from the Shady Lane site it allows the branch to service clients both north and south of the city covering a wide geographical area delivering quality products on our expanded fleet of owned Hiab and Flatbed vehicles.
James takes over the reins from Jamie Lester, who is moving to a new role of National Groundworks Sales Manager and continues the success of the company’s promote within policy and ambitious expansion plans for the division.
The Birmingham North branch is part of our nationwide network of locations specialising in Groundworks equipment with further sites in Salsburgh, Widnes, Bristol, Uxbridge, Grays & Dublin.
James will lead a close knit team, with years of experience and they are always on hand to answer any enquiries you have.

James will take up his managerial duties from the 1st of February and we look forward to seeing him grow and develop as a valued part of Altrad Generation.
