Generation Kiss Goodbye to 2020

| Case Studies | Company News

Kiss refused to let a global pandemic get in the way of rock n’ roll.  Instead they decided to create a record breaking 2020 New Year’s Eve show.  Working with production company Landmarks Live, they built one of the largest stages ever at the Atlantis Dubai.

Although only watched live by 5000 people from socially distanced hotel balconies; Kiss weren’t thinking small.  They wanted to create a Pay Per View global spectacle re-igniting the fire and bringing us back to life in 2021.  To achieve this they bolted together two stages delivering a stage with over 20km3 of space.

The stage was so large NASA could have parked the Space Shuttle in it.  Instead of launching a space ship they broke records for the highest flame projection in a music concert (35 metres) and most flame projections launched simultaneously (73).

To achieve this, Kiss and its production partners turned to the expertise and products that delivered the Abu Dhabi UFC242 arena.  A collaboration between Altrad Generation, AES and Altrad DESSA providing design, engineering, logistics and system scaffold expertise and products.

In total they used 1.7km of Asterix Beams that supported 58 tonnes of rigging.  They deployed the Generation Uni-Roof temporary roof solution to build a 42.5m wide by 26m deep roof.

The speed and ease of erection of the Futuro and Uni-Roof system solutions mean that the entire structure only took 11 days to build.  The 63 workers being able to work safely and maintain Covid19 protocols with the easy to handle and manage products.

There could be no better way to Kiss Goodbye to 2020 and reigniting 2021 and rocking on.
