Generation Hire & Sales were tasked by their customer, Lt Scaffolding to provide two temp roofs to cover the Cardiff museum to enable WRW to carry out essential repairs. The project required a quick turnaround of stock and the whole job had to be completed in 12 weeks.
The location of the job meant Lt Scaffolding were unable to use a crane to assemble the Uni Roof System so Generation Cardiff suggested the rollout method, which enabled the scaffolders to work safely and build the system roof from the gable end. With a huge span of 40mt required for both roofs, it was decided for a safe, stable and fast erection to change from the normal 780mm beams and supply the 1.33mtr Asterix beams, which also enabled Lt Scaffolding to cut the number of cords of beams down from 15 to 12.
Generation Cardiff was proud to be involved in such a prestigious project and the clients were delighted with the product and service.
To date, this is the largest temp roof Generation Cardiff has supplied in Wales and the 1st using our new 1.33mt Asterix Beams.
