On Monday 29thJuly 2019 Generation UK Ltd (T/A Altrad UK Training Services), received a full cohort of 9 new Scaffolding Apprentices all in the employment of Altrad Services UK (formally Cape and Hertel), to be trained at our dedicated CISRS centre in Wakefield, West Yorkshire.

The candidates will undertake an 18-month training program including CISRS COTS, Part 1 & Part 2 training, onsite NVQ level 2 assessment, CISRS Skills Test as well as Functional Skills English and Maths.  All of which will be provided by the team at Generation UK Ltd (T/A Altrad UK Training Services).

Supported by the CITB & Stockton Riverside College, Generation UK Ltd have been providing the Scaffolding Apprenticeship program since 2014 with over 50 candidates qualifying each year.  This will be the first group of Altrad Services Apprentices trained by an in-group sister company since Cape & Hertel where acquired.

Each of the 9 candidates are employed across UK sites including, Pembroke Power Station, Fawley Refinery and will be closely supported by the CITB and our team of onsite NVQ Assessors.

On Tuesday 6thAugust the Head of Workforce Development for Altrad Services UK, Matt Oates, made a special visit to the Wakefield centre during the apprentices’ 2-week initial foundation course along with Area Manager Carl Wilkinson and VR Trainer Marc Allert.  The apprentices where treated to a Virtual Reality training session presented by Marc following an introductory meeting with Matt and after the day’s work, enjoyed an evening of hospitality at a local restaurant hosted by Altrad Services. The day provided an opportunity for all to get to know one another and learn more about how the Altrad Group aim to work together wherever possible.

“It has been a great pleasure to meet our new candidates, each of them has presented themselves professionally in the centre and expressed true aspirations to not only complete their apprenticeship but also go on to have a successful career in the Scaffolding industry.  We look forward to their return visits and seeing them develop both their skills as scaffolders and grow personally throughout the program.  We are very pleased to provide Altrad Services UK with this training and are excited for future collaborative opportunities as they recruit more apprentices over their many projects.” – Jonathan Gaunt, Generation UK Ltd Training Division Manager
